I think I have belabored the obvious, pounded it home that that Floyd Mayweather WILL NOT, repeat WILL NOT back out of the May 1 Sugar Shane Mosley bout.

I mean, come on, Money would have to wait for 45 year old Bernie Hopkins to beat battered performer Roy Jones April 3 in order to find a big name foe older than Mosley.

As I've written ad nauseum, Mayweather's only other exit, one only a real braniac would take, is to sit on the sidelines and wait for Manny Pacquiao to handle his business against Joshua “I'm Not Joshing” Clottey in Arlington, Tx., on March 13.

But Mayweather is an Everlast Einstein only between the ropes, not outside of it, we all know this even the most ardent of Flomos.

But I was just cogitating over my morning jolt of java and contemplating what would the wildest rumor, the craziest story of all in the Mayweather-Mosley-Pacman Triangle?

What would really put all the drama queens into a tizzy?

How about this it will never happen action.

Mayweather returns to Big Daddy Bob, he goes back to the Top Rank tent from whence he came.

Arum welcomes the Prodigal Son “back home” to the promotional firm where his unbeaten record was crafted by architect/mathmaker Bruce “Southland” Trampler.

Mayweather is free to do so since has no contract with for hire per fight Golden Boy.

Mayweather and Top Rank could mutually drop whatever remaining litigation there is between them after their ugly business split.

Then Uncle Bob would throw all his might and all his enthusiasm into Top Rank Presents: Mayweather Vs. Pacquiao.

But, as I say, it's just a wild hair.

As long as ubiquitous Al Haymon is Money's supreme commander/adviser, it will never happen.

I also think Mayweather's pride would also prevent him from going back to Top Rank.

It's a non-story which I turned into a modest but space filling column.

Give me a little slack, guys. You know my idea of a day off is six or seven scintillating stories rather than eight or nine.

Quantity, I got. Quality, well I leave that judgement to you.

You've got to admit, Mayweather back to Top Rank, now that would be a shocker.

To use the Don King expression, it would have double shock power.

Don't hold your breath, bated or otherwise.
